THE FLOWER PILOT

My cameras "fly" over shrubs and flowers enabling us to share the experience of a bee wearing noise cancelling headphones.
The headphones have to be noise cancelling to remove that irritating buzzing sound that bees seem so keen on.

The Choreographed Camera
I’m a just blown away by the magic of recent developments in video photography.
My obsession started with action cameras (GoPro), moved on to drones and now I am in love with the power and portability of cameras such as the DJI Osmo Pocket and Insta360 one x.

And for long steady low flying shots I use a cable camera (Wiral Cam), which unlike a drone, cannot fly off and never be seen again.

If I am invited to film a garden, the production starts with finding a piece of music so that the music can be in my ears as I film. With the Insta360 one x on the end of a long monopod, the camera can be made to dance with the music like a conductor's baton.

The camera rather than its subjects is choreographed!
